Hawk Eye
Armed with his "noculars", Nash took his Hawk spotting very seriously!
"Momma, I see one! No, I see two! I see lot's of Hawk's"!
Bren adopted the Merlin.
He was pretty excited. I was jealous. He's holding a real, live, wild HAWK!
***Random Hawk fact: Raptors are reluctant to cross large bodies of water, so when they migrate south & get to Lake Superior, the birds naturally veer southwest along the Lakeshore, making Hawk Ridge the ideal Hawk watching spot in NORTH AMERICA!***
Fly south, lil bird!
Now it was Hawk Eye Jr.'s turn. Nash's Hawk, who he shockingly named "BUSTIN BEAVERS", was a Sharp-shinned Hawk.
Nash was so excited and brave! Bustin Beavers wouldn't take his eyes off Nash, which did make Momma a teeny bit nervous.
Everyone counted down.....three...two....one.....and he was supposed to let go. Instead he snuck a few more moments with the bird................then when HE was ready..................
He let Bustin Beavers spread his wings!
Be sure to go check out Hawk Ridge. Drive in until you see the little station they have set up. Peak viewing times are 10am-2pm & the number of raptors will peak around th 15 of September (give or take a day or two). Click this link to learn more about the migration (it's pretty fascinating). http://www.hawkridge.org/visit/migration.html

This is my favorite...she is just to cute! Love her little blonde curls.
Me: "Chloe, if you just look at me and smile, you can have ICE CREAM"! Amazing how that works like a charm.
We had to make good on our bribe, so we ended with some ice cream on the Lakewalk!

9 & Strep
He felt so cruddy he almost didn't even want to open presents! Look at the sad, sad tear in his eye.
Back to sleep. Thank God for antibiotics. In 24hrs he was back to being Bren!

With a bit of encouragement & help from his big brother, Nash decided to take the training wheels off. I heard Bren say "Nashers, Eddie (One of Bren's nicknames-how Bren always refers to himself when talking to Nash) learned how to ride without training wheels when he was three, you can too. Mom will even buy you Dairy Queen if you do". That was it. DQ and he agreed! So they crabbed a wrench & off they went.
Next came the Momma who would save the day. (Or at least the kid from crashing). But the little kiddo didn't need any help...he just took off!

"Momma look, me can do it all by me-self!!!!!!!"
Why wouldn't you celebrate by doing a summer sault?
"Momma, me did it and me only three! Just like mine big broder did. Me a champion!"
Way to go my little CHAMPION! I am so proud of you!
*Some scenes were recreated due to Josh being out of town & Nash wanting to learn before he got home! Josh pulled in the driveway 10 minutes after Nash learned how...so I had to run & grab the camera :) He was so excited to show his Daddy what he learned to do.

Uncle Larry
A big part of our family is gone, but will always be remembered.
